All files are securely encrypted, copied, and backed up to servers in an off-site data center which is away from your computer, keeping it safe from a ‘data disaster’ such as theft, floods, fires, or hard drive crashes.
It is a more convenient method over using CD/DVD and other external hardware devices. Also, it is less of a hassle in efficiency and having to remember to back up your data all the time.
Encryption security is automatically done on your computer — so you have nothing to remember to do! How great is that.

You can now access files backed up with Carbonite service through your Android, iPhone and iPad (using an app designed for the iPhone) using the new Carbonite Access App!
