Tips for helping the environment

We thought we would share some ideas we have had with you so that you could consider implementing them yourselves in your effort to take care of the world…or even just have a clean conscience!

Save Paper:

  • Email invoices rather than print them, saves the paper and an envelope and is maybe a step closer to that paperless office we all dream of!
  • Turn paper that has only been used on one side into note paper…always good to have something to scribble a new customers name on.  Don’t forget to shred the confidential stuff though!
  • Read it later, don’t print it!  We found many clients printing things from the web to read later.  Our suggestion is to set up a Task in Outlook and add a list of ‘Read Later’ articles there….or set up a separate ‘Read Later’ bookmarks folder in Firefox.

Save Power:

Our new favourite product is the Belkin Conserve Surge Protector Range.  They make it easy to remember to turn off those unrequired electrical items as you leave the home or office.  Our favourite is the wireless model but there are others…Belkins Conserve energy-Saving Surge Range conveniently minimises power by enabling you to turn off the power to multiple devices with just one click of the remote switch.  The remote switch or time easily cuts off or activates the power that flows to devices plugged into Conserve’s Switchable outlets, while devices can be plugged into the Always-On outlets.
