Are you saving energy?

At Brandstar we are aware of the different types of energy we use to run the business and like to put in place controls to help us ensure we are doing our bit (and a bit more on top) to help save the environment, preserve rainforests and help preserve the earth on which we live; while at the same time running a reliable IT business. We have invested in more energy efficient computers such as the Dell Optiplex range of machines, we offer remote support through LogMeIn Pro2 to cut out unnecessary trips to clients as well as offer a faster service and have policies to ensure we turn off equipment that isn’t being used and this last item is what prompter us to write this blog today…we came across a neat little product range called the Belkin Conserve. Specifically we bought the wireless version but there are others.

This enables us to quickly turn off the things that can often get forgotten about, such as printers, scanners, monitors, speakers, pretty much anything that doesn’t need to be shut down safely (like a PC!) Check out this video which teaches you how the product works!
As I’m sure you can tell we think this product is truly fantastic and consider it a genius way to not only save money, but save the world around us!
