LogMeIn is a tool which we’ve been using for a while now at Brandstar. It allows us to have remote control of clients PC’s all over the world…as long as they have an Internet connection. All our clients need to do is download and install the software as requested by the Brandstar technician and then we can gain control over the web and help you! If you don’t have a support contract with Brandstar but would like access to your PC remotely you can sign up for a free account. In the office we prefer the Pro version as it offers us a lot more support options. However, generally the free version is fine for clients.
We use the program for supporting clients remotely when they have system problems, remote training for clients and system monitoring (so we receive alerts if something happens on a system that shouldn’t).

- Fill out the registration form on the LogMeIn website
Download the software
- Go to the LogMeIn Free download page
- Click Install LogMeIn
- Follow the process through
What’s the difference between Pro and Free?
In short, the free version is for individuals who need basic access to a remote PC or Mac. Whereas, the Pro version is ideal for mobile and IT professionals who need full access to remote PC’s from any web enable device – with the ability to print, copy files and more. Other LogMeIn Software
LogMeIn also do a variety of other software. Products we’ve tried include:
- LogMeIn Rescue – Web-Based Remote Support without Pre-Installed Software
- LogMeIn IT Reach (No Longer Available) – Replaced with LogMeIn Pro and LogMeIn Central
- LogMeIn Hamachi – a hosted VPN (virtual private network) service that securely connects devices and networks.
All the above software we would recommend without any hesitation to companies and charities.
