What’s the big deal with Twitter?
April 17, 2009 – 10:46 amSo tell me..has anyone really sussed the point of Twitter? It seems to be a whole site just for the “What you’re up to status” that we all use so much on Facebook!
For sure I find that myself and my friends on facebook are using it less and less, there was a time when hundreds of photos were being uploaded by us all each week but these days it is a few wall messages and status updates (with comments and ‘likes’!).
So are ‘we’ as an online community wanting something more direct, a quick way to tell our friends, family and random followers where we are or what we are doing?
It seems to have been well taken up by News sources like papers and TV stations, and the celeb community have grabbed it and ran with it as well…listening to Absolute Radio this morning they were talking about all the DJ’s having a Twitter feed and again on the radio a news article on SouthernFM suggested something about a celeb race to see who could get the most followers!
So is it here to stay? or will it be short lived…we think it will be around for a while, but it won’t be as well taken up as Facebook. All the same, we have a Brandstar UK Tweet so if you are tweeting why not follow us and let us know what you think!
